Who we are
Paws and Claws animal shelter is a non-profit, no-kill, dog and cat rescue organisation.
Paws and Claws Port Douglas is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming neglected and homeless dogs and cats throughout the Douglas Shire Region. After 16 years of tireless fundraising and community support, we opened our state-of-the-art shelter in August 2022, giving rescued animals a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment while they await adoption.
As a not-for-profit charity, we rely on the generosity of supporters, volunteers, and the local community. Through adoption events, education, and partnerships with local businesses, we continue to create a more compassionate community for animals in need.
